Does Family Dollar take the Healthy Benefits card? ›

Using the card is simple for members

The member can use the Healthy Foods Card just like a credit card. The card can be used at thousands of participating stores, including CVS, Dollar General, Family Dollar, Walgreens and Walmart. To see which Humana plans include this benefit, visit firstlook.Humana.com. 1.

Is it a debit card or a credit card? Your Benefits Card is a debit card. You use it to access the money you set aside for your pre-tax purchases. When you make a purchase, the business will run it like a normal credit card.

Participants may use the benefits card to pay a hospital, doctor, dentist, or vision provider that accepts benefit cards. Auto-substantiation technology electronically verifies the transaction's eligibility according to IRS rules.

OTC items are not eligible for reimbursem*nt if they are normally used for general health, are not used to treat a medical condition (e.g. toothpaste, mouthwash, lotion, shampoo) or are cosmetic in nature (e.g. teeth whitening products, wrinkle reducers). See additional examples in the OTC Chart.

You can only use your card at participating stores — not at convenience stores, restaurants (including fast food), or gas stations.

Your Card is not accepted at Automated Teller Machines (“ATMs”) and cannot be used to obtain cash from an ATM, a point-of-sale terminal (“POS”), or by any other means, except as required by law. Only your Program Sponsor may load additional funds that can be accessed with your Card.

Examples of approved food items are fruits, vegetables, meats, poultry, seafood, eggs, dairy, rice, pasta, beans, and much more.

A Benefits Debit Card allows you to pay for eligible expenses such as prescriptions and copayments, using the funds in your Healthcare Flexible Spending Account (HCFSA), Limited Purpose Flexible Spending Account (LPFSA), Health Reimbursem*nt Arrangement (HRA), or Health Savings Account (HSA).

Can you take money out of a benefits card? ›

Use an ATM to withdraw cash benefits. Some ATMs charge surcharges. Check with your local public assistance office to find out where you can use your card without a surcharge. After you have made four cash withdrawals in one month at an ATM or POS, each additional ATM withdrawal will cost 80 cents.

IRS regulations allow participants to use their benefits card in participating pharmacies, mail-order pharmacies, discount stores, department stores, and supermarkets that can identify eligible items at checkout and accept benefits cards.
