The old Thrush muffler that was originally on the left side would drone around the 2000 RPM area and it was still noticeable even at 1200-1500 RPM. It sounded bad, inside and out. With the factory setup, everything is quiet, just the way I like it. Quick question for you, how did you go about getting the tail pipes in over the axle? _________________________

With the back of the car in the air, axle hanging, and the mufflers removed from the pipes, they can be snaked over the axle pretty easily. At least on a box or aero. Never done exhaust on a whale. As for what I did to my panther today...I used it to make deliveries at work.. I HATE doing that since they don't pay gas or mileage since technically we are never supposed to use our personal vehicles. But one of our drivers was nowhere to be found in the company car, turned out he was stuck at an accident scene and his cell phone was dead. Whatever, the deliveries I took added up to 10 miles so its not like it was a ton of driving. _________________________ -Steve

Registered: 06/05/10 Posts: 19872 Loc: I can see Detroit from here! | Got my "new" hood ornament in the mail. So I installed that. Its in nice shape, but not as nice as my other one was. Still, it was bugging the [censored] out of me not having it, so its nice that its back. I knew the retaining nut was damaged on this one, but I did not know the whole base was damaged. Looks like someone removed it by grabbing the base with channel locks and marred it up a bit, also broke the aligning pins, and about 1/2 of the threaded shaft was broken off. I put it on anyway, I have 2 more Town Car ornament bases and retaining nuts, so I guess I'll see if this one is gonna start to come loose on me. IDK if anyone here has swapped a hood ornament base, but that freaking spring is ridiculous, I don't want to mess with it if I don't have too. _________________________ -Steve

Looks great man! How much did they charge, if you don't mind me asking. $471.90...this particular paint job was a stage 3? & the original price is $591 I believe. I used a coupon & the guy behind the counter was nice enough to give me that price. _________________________ 2002 Ford Crown Victoria P71.(Sold) Midnight Blue, Her name is Betty. 2008 Ford Crown Victoria P71 K-9 Unit 117,000 miles. I was lucky to find the coupon. I originally went on the website to get the address but thanks man. Now I have to find out how to paint these wheels. Clean them really well, then shoot them with some gloss or semi-gloss paint. Really not much to it, so long as they are nice and clean when you start and the paint is decent, it should hold up pretty well. I've seen people recommend using a high-temp paint or a wheel paint, but IDK if that's really necessary, wheels don't get all that hot so regular old enamel paint should do the trick just fine. _________________________ -Steve
